SoundsDown is a small independent project with one job: let you keep the SoundCloud tracks that matter — as a clean MP3, and without making you sign up, install anything, or sit through ads.
Our story
SoundsDown started as a weekend tool for one of our team members who wanted to save a friend's SoundCloud track before it disappeared. SoundCloud only offers a download when the artist has enabled it, every existing downloader wanted an account, and most buried the actual download link under a wall of pop-ups. So we built our own — simple, fast, and free.
What started as a personal script grew into the tool you are using today. We kept it free because the original problem is universal: the tracks and sounds you love should not be locked inside someone else's app.
What we believe
Speed beats features
Most users want to paste a link and get a clean file. We focus on that flow being instant, not on twenty side features nobody asked for.
Privacy by default
No accounts. No login walls. We don't keep your download history because we don't need it to make the tool work.
A clean interface
No fake download buttons, no auto-redirects, no tabs of pop-ups. The page does what it says on the tin.
Respect for creators
We only fetch what SoundCloud already serves publicly. We encourage everyone to download responsibly and to credit original artists.
Who we are
We are a small distributed team of developers, designers, and writers who have built consumer web tools for the better part of a decade. We are not affiliated with SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG in any way. SoundsDown is an independent product run as a side project, funded out of pocket.
What's next
We are slowly expanding the tool to handle more formats and edge cases — original-file downloads when an artist enables them, higher-quality sources, and playlist help.
