Terms of Service

By using SoundsDown you agree to the following terms. They are written to be as readable as possible. If anything is unclear, contact us before you continue using the service.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SoundsDown ("the Service") you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What SoundsDown is

SoundsDown is a free online tool that lets you save publicly accessible SoundCloud tracks to your own device as an MP3 (and, when the artist enables it, the original uploaded file). We are an independent project and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG or any of its subsidiaries.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SoundsDown. If you are in a jurisdiction with a higher minimum age for online services, you must meet that age. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use SoundsDown only for lawful, personal purposes. You will not:

  • Download content you do not have permission to access or save.
  • Re-upload, redistribute, sell, or monetize downloaded tracks without the original artist's permission.
  • Use the Service to infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or any other legal right.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or otherwise interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to bulk-download tracks without our written permission.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

5. Intellectual property

SoundsDown does not own the tracks available through SoundCloud. All audio remains the property of its original artists or rightsholders. Downloading a track does not transfer ownership or grant a license to use the content commercially.

The SoundsDown name, logo, source code, and design are owned by us. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.

6. Copyright and DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content accessible through SoundsDown infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work.
  • The URL or description of the infringing material.
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on the rightsholder's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We review valid notices promptly and may block access to the identified content while we investigate. You can email the notice to [email protected] or submit it with the DMCA takedown form below.

7. No warranty

SoundsDown is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or that any specific track will be downloadable at any given time. SoundCloud may change how tracks are served at any time, which can affect functionality.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoundsDown and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption — arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SoundsDown and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property right.

10. Third-party content and services

SoundsDown interacts with content served by SoundCloud. We have no control over SoundCloud's services, terms, or availability. Your use of any content you obtain is your own responsibility and is subject to the original platform's terms.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with generally applicable international principles of online consumer law. Where the law of a specific jurisdiction is required, the laws of the country where the Service operator is established will apply, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
