Cancelling a SoundCloud subscription — whether it's Go, Go+, or one of the artist/Pro plans — is straightforward once you know the one rule that trips everyone up: you cancel wherever you originally subscribed. If you signed up on the web, you cancel on the web. If you signed up through an app store, SoundCloud itself can't cancel it for you. Here's exactly how to do it for each case, plus what happens to your access afterward.

Quick answer
Subscribed on soundcloud.com? Cancel under Settings → Subscriptions. Subscribed via the Apple App Store? Cancel in your iPhone's Apple ID subscription settings. Via Google Play? Cancel in the Play Store. Your benefits last until the end of the current billing period.

First, figure out where you subscribed

Even if you use the SoundCloud app every day, the billing might run through Apple or Google because that's where you tapped "subscribe." The payment can only be cancelled in the same place it was set up. If you're not sure, check which account was charged — your bank statement, Apple receipts, or Google Play order history will show whether SoundCloud, Apple, or Google took the payment.

Cancel a subscription bought on the SoundCloud website

  1. Sign in to soundcloud.com in a web browser (a computer is easiest).
  2. Go to your Settings, then open the Subscriptions section (you can also go straight to soundcloud.com/you/subscriptions).
  3. Find your current plan and click Edit or Cancel plan.
  4. Follow the prompts and confirm the cancellation.

Once confirmed, your plan is set not to renew. You'll usually see the renewal date change to an expiry date, which is how you know it worked.

Cancel a subscription bought through the Apple App Store

If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, SoundCloud can't cancel or refund it — you manage it through Apple:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Select SoundCloud from the list.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. (If you only see "Resubscribe," it's already cancelled.)

Cancel a subscription bought through Google Play

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions.
  3. Tap SoundCloud.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

What happens after you cancel

  • You keep your benefits until the period ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't cut you off immediately. You keep the features you paid for until the current cycle finishes.
  • Your account stays. You don't lose your profile or uploads — you simply return to the free tier when the paid period expires.
  • Offline saves go away. If you had Go/Go+, tracks you saved for offline listening in the app stop working once the subscription lapses. For music you want to keep, an MP3 download of tracks you're allowed to save is a more permanent option.
  • Refunds follow the store's rules. Cancelling isn't the same as a refund; any refund request goes through whoever billed you (SoundCloud, Apple, or Google).

Frequently asked questions

I cancelled but still have Go+ — did it work?

Almost certainly yes. Cancelling stops the renewal but leaves your benefits active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Check that the plan shows an expiry date rather than a renewal date.

Why can't I find a cancel button on the website?

That usually means you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. In that case the cancel option lives in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings, not on SoundCloud.

Will I lose my tracks and followers?

No. Your account, uploads, and followers stay put. You just move back to the free tier once the paid period ends.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by whoever charged you and are subject to their policy. Purchases made on iOS or Android are handled by Apple or Google, not SoundCloud.

The bottom line

To cancel SoundCloud, go back to wherever you subscribed: the SoundCloud website (Settings → Subscriptions), the Apple App Store, or Google Play. Confirm the cancellation, and enjoy your remaining paid time — it runs until the end of the billing period. Your profile and music stay exactly where they are.
